This product of Pacific Car and Foundry was built for the Skagit River Railway to haul baggage behind its Brill model
55 railcars. It is 16 feet long and rated at 15 tons capacity. Originaly built of wood, it received a new steel frame in the
early 1940's. It spent some time as the platform carriage on the incline railroad at Diablo dam.
After the frame was cleaned up, a new wood sill is test fitted in place.
The only markings found on the car, the number 40, located over the left wheel on each side.
The wood sills test fitted in place. Primering must be done before final assembly.
The frame was hand primered in those areas to be covered by sills or stake pockets.
